Queens of the SINULOG and crazy dances in Cebu // Reinas y bailes extremos en el sinulog

Sinulog is said is the biggest festival in Visayas, in Philippines and some of the bravest even affirm is the biggest in south east Asia. I can’t say anything like this, is more, I have to criticise the festival cause its massive audience and crowded streets which didn’t allow me to really enjoy it as much as I’ve done with other festivals. But what I’m about to show you aren’t even the highlights of this amazing celebration full of colour.

  The 15th of January is the queens photo shooting. When, of course in a mall (Filipinos love malls), we can observe the wonders of the queens of each of the cities and counties around Cebu suit in huge and colourful dresses. A contest of beauty and custom design.

  Is the next day when one of the highlights is going to happen, the queens contest and dance contest. For me, not so espectacular the queen contest the dance contest made my saliva get off my mouth observing amazing acrobatics and incredible choreography’s. Well, a Image worths thousand word right?

  Se dice del Sinulog que es el mayor festival de Visayas, de filipinas, y los mas audaces se atreven incluso a afirmar que es el mayor festival de todo el sudeste asiatico. No puedo confirmar nada parecido y es mas si tengo que hacer una critica es que el festival estaba demasiado masificado para disfrutarlo en su plenitud, lo que no ha sido un problema en otros festivales. Pero lo que voy a enseniaros a continuación no son siquiera lo mas importante de este increíble festival lleno de color.

  El 15 de enero es el phoshooting de las reinas del festival. Cuando, por supesto en un centro comercial (a los filipinos les encantan los centros comerciales) podemos observar a las reinas, bellezas de todas las ciudades y grandes localidades cercanas a la capital embutidas en traves inmensos y de vivos colores. Una competición de belleza y diseño de trajes festivos.

  Es el dia siguiente cuando una de las actividades mas importantes del festival sucede, la verdadera competición de belleza de las reinas y la competición de baile. Para mi tras tenerlas tan cerca el dia anterior las reinas no fueron tan espectaculares, sin embargo para los bailes me prestaron un objetivo y eso si fue mas impresionante. Coreografias y acrobacias  que me hacían la boca agua. Bueno, una imagen vale mas que mil palabras verdad?
